Who we are
Our Goal
CPOE in the Netherlands
• Access to a network of participants with their own focus and work area.
• Meetings (general meetings and symposia) where lectures on current themes are given and participants can learn and exchange (from each other).
• Workshops and trainings by professionals on ways of working or specific Eastern Europe themes. Experts from Eastern Europe are also working on this.
• Participation in thematic groups or access to information. The thematic groups are: Roma (inclusion), role of the church, Ukraine and protection and development of children. There are also working groups active on combating human trafficking, on mental health and inclusion of people with disabilities.
• Developing collaborative content for articles and making visible how specific themes are being worked on.
CPOE in Central and Eastern Europe
• Training for local contacts and partners in Eastern Europe aimed at strengthening their capacity (Local Resource Mobilisation). Important factors are: recruiting and deploying local resources, cooperation, communication, etc.
• On-demand access to a network of participants with their own focus and work area.
• On-demand meetings or conferences where meeting and sharing best practices are central.
• On-demand learning trajectory on relevant themes in collaboration with local experts, topics as mentioned in the theme groups.
What can you add?
• By sharing your experience, knowledge and contacts and by joining forces:
• The capacity of organisations in the Netherlands and Central and Eastern Europe will be strengthened.
• Projects can better contribute to change for people living in poverty and vulnerable situations.
• Together, we can make a strong Christian voice heard in Eastern Europe.
• Policy influencing can take place at a higher level.

In cooperation with different partners, Christian Platform Eastern Europe has developed a training programme in Local Resource Mobilisation. This training is for local communities (community groups), churches and organisations in Central and Eastern Europe that work for the benefit of marginalised people. It enables them to explore and increase their opportunities and instigates a shift from needs based to asset based thinking.
We envision growing local ownership and reduced dependence on external financing.
Training themes include:
- Asset-based community development
- Multi-stakeholder partnership
- Communication management
- Project cycle management
- Fundraising tools and leadership
